Richard Tansey was a Renaissance scholar and a principal author of 8 editions of Gardner's "Art Through The Ages". This work - based on Uccello's dreams of perspective as described by Vasari - is a memorial to him. It was purchased by a group of his friends and donated to the San Jose Museum of Art
