I have always loved the wind, from a cool breeze to the feeling of it gusting through my hair. I didn't realize it until I moved away freshman year of college, but one thing I missed was the sound of our wind chimes on the back porch. I am creating a tribute those wind chimes in large-scale sculpture. In addition to the thoughts from above, while brainstorming, thinking, planning and sketching for this sculpture, I focused on the themes of opportunity and energy. When sculpting, I like to play with the tension that gravity and the relationships that the different forms create all in one piece. I have included wind energy in Bration which has the opportunity to create sound energy. These energies are combined to help engage the viewer.
