“The evolution of sculpture into abstraction and non-representation are built on the foundations of the figurative tradition. But these new forms of sculpture are now threatening the relevance of figurative sculpture in the modern art scene. This composition further evolved to represent mankind struggling with abstract concepts. Notice that the sculpture/abstract concept that is on the figure's back is actually part of him. It represents his idea growing from within him, much like the sculptor who produces works that all contain a little piece of himself.”
