Over 300 members of the community attended this improvisational art party that was hosted in collaboration with Grounds For Sculpture. For the inaugural International Sculpture Day celebration, this was certainly something to remember and a great way to start off this annual celebration of sculpture. We look forward to celebrating IS Day for many years to come!
Hundreds of TASKs were completed at the TASK Party, including “become superheroes”, “transform into plants”, “make it rain with shredded paper”, and many participants met new friends. TASKers also got a chance to TASK across the country on our livestream with University of Florida and University of South Dakota. The party concluded with a team effort – with TASKers “making a roof out of cardboard”.
We would like to extend a special thank you to all of the individuals and organizations that provided donations for this event: Ancero, Marian Braverman, Bucks Ship & Print, The Carlson Family, Dick Blick Art Materials, Digital Dog Direct, Don’t Toss It, Kucker Haney, Minuteman Press, Modern Postcard, Party Fair, Princeton Marriott at Forrestal, Singer Equipment Company, Steven S. Cohen Architect, P.C., Terracycle, Verterra and of course our neighbor and partner Grounds For Sculpture.
A special thank you goes to Bear Tavern Elementary School and the Students of art teacher Joslyn Johnson, Emily Pustay and the Nottingham High School Art Club, and Lawrenceville Township Public Schools and the students of art teacher Jeanne Muzi for making our fantastic TASK signs.
We would also like to thank the installation team for the TASK Party: Anna Dourbal, Fran Johnson, and Layla Cabrera from Mercer County Community College; Emmy Abdill from Rider University; Meghan DeMora, Samantha Kovnat, and Symone Salib from Rowan University; Emily Culbertson and Marko Gidej from The College of New Jersey; and Shana D'Attilio, Yvonne De Carolis, Andrea Jensen, and Zachary Minton.
Finally, thank you to the students of the Performance and Installation Course at University of Florida and the University of South Dakota for throwing simultaneous IS Day TASK Parties and joining us for our livestream.
