Helen Lessick explores The Burning Forest in her solo exhibition at Stanline Gallery, 6025 Roosevelt Way N.E. Seattle, Washington in September. Helen’s new installation investigates forests and soils affected by recent western wildfires, with life-sized suspended ‘ghost trees’ on translucent film suspended near the gallery ceiling. The scroll-like works move with ambient breezes and the passage of visitors. Helen will also exhibit new small bronzes and works on paper to explore the forest’s response to environmental challenges in both somber and playful ways. Artist reception Sunday Sept. 8 3- 6 pm; artist walkthough and catalog release Saturday Sept. 21 3 – 6 p.
