Commonplace objects, such as paper or pencils, which hold volumes of history, reflect the passage of time. Loss, discovery, and fabrication co-exist in materials that have nearly returned to the point of their origin. The relationship between the manmade and the natural parallels that of paper and wood. We live within limits, and these materials challenge that perception, emulating something indefinable and uncontrollable.
