The Sculpture Garden of the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico
provides a diverse and fulfilling creative environment to the general
public and forms an integral part of the Museum's permanent art collection
exhibiting over a variety of contemporary sculptures by renowned Puerto
Rican artists. As a non-profit institution committed to artistic awareness
and cultural enrichment, the Sculpture Garden represents the very essence
of the type of experience we provide our public on a daily basis. In addition
to the inspiring sculpture collection, we are proud to offer an impressive
botanical garden setting in the midst of Santurce, a bustling business
and commercial area of San Juan. The serene atmosphere is produced by
a dynamic landscape created for our visitors' enjoyment. A wide variety
of tropical fruit trees, native trees, bushes, creeping plants, flowering
plants and ferns totaling well over 100,000 in all dominate the overall
landscape. Thousands of tropical orchids compliment this greenery with
an energetic array of colors. This entire setting centers around a man-made
pond which ties in all this vegetation and color with its dazzling lotus
flowers and relaxing waterfalls, not to mention the dozens of brightly
colored koi inhabiting the pond.
