The International Sculpture Center Presents

NOVEMBER 11, 2011
Artist Talk: Anya Gallaccio

Students, educators and art enthusiasts gathered at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia on November 11, 2011 to meet artist Anya Gallaccio and listen to her discuss her site-specific installations. Gallaccio is known for utilizing organic materials as her medium, for example, her installation, Intensities and Surfaces, where Gallaccio placed thirty, two-ton blocks of ice with a salt core in a boiler room, allowing it to melt; or her Stroke installation, in which she covered gallery benches and walls with chocolate.

After the discussion, attendees enjoyed networking and continued the conversation at a cocktail reception in Moore College of Art and Designís Museum.
