Most of my current work is in the standing figure, however the twin towers maquette was my homage to 9/11. I tried to put my feelings down in a structure. In explanation of the symbolism…there is a steel ribbon running through the towers on a mezzanine level that goes on to form a circle on the other end. The circle is symbolic in the sense that there is no beginning and no ending. The steel ribbon tapers into nothing once the circle is complete. To complete the metaphor, water runs down the towers, collects on the mezzanine, follows the steel ribbon, flows around the circle and comes down into droplets to shape a low column of water-making a new shape which balances the composition with the towers on the other end.
