Peter Day is one of Australia’s most prolific and commissioned artists, having made art professionally for over 40 years.
His company Environmental Art+Design (EA+D) specialise in site-specific public art and community consultation. EA+D have created approx. 200 successful projects to date, including murals, sculptures, ceramics, mosaics and playgrounds both locally and overseas. Their projects are uniquely based in local history and where possible detailed community engagement.
Some notable works include four large sculptures on the north bank of the Parramatta River - 'Fisheel Trap', 'Eel seating ensemble and mosaic', 'Curl, and 'Rivercraft'.
Peter has had over 30 solo exhibitions of his ‘personal’ work of paintings, sculpture and prints.
Academic qualifications include a Diploma of Industrial Design, a Graduate Diploma in Professional Art Studies, an M.A. in Community Art.
Peter has taught and guest lectured in most Universities in NSW. He has consulted or contracted to all levels of government in Australia and internationally with the United Nations. He is a Churchill Fellow, has won many art awards, numerous Australia Council grants and appointed to a wide range of Artist –in-residencies including Vence in the South of France, New York and Bundanon.
