Roger Gaudreau was born in Rimouski, Québec, in 1956. Roger lives and works in Saint-Étienne-des-Grès in Québec. He received his bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Québec in Trois-Rivières (1981). After his bachelor’s degree he received a grant to pursue a traineeship in stone carving, in Pietrasanta, Italia.   He received his Master of fine arts from the University of Québec in Montréal (1996). He has been teaching sculpture as lecturer professor in Trois-Rivières, Chicoutimi, Montréal and Halifax for thirty-three years. 

He was a founding member and he is still an active member of a collective workshop “Atelier Silex” in Trois-Rivières (1983).   He received many prizes and grants since the beginning of his career. 


He has completed over thirty public art projects in Canada, Taiwan, Australia, Finland and Malaysia. He has numerous solo and group exhibitions in Québec. He has produced site-specific sculptures for symposiums in Québec, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Taiwan and Australia.
