Zvi Goldman, Sculptor, Thoughts in Wood – Short Biography
Born in Israel in 1952.
Completed high level education in Israel and the US.
Residing in Trumbull CT since 1992.
Participated in Sara Aldouby’s Sculpting workshop.
At around the age of four, I developed a love for wood when I started hanging around a carpentry shop, picking up scrap pieces of wood and making creations out of them. After that childhood passing fancy, my artistry was dormant for a while until later in life I was inspired to take up wood sculpting. After a few months of lessons with my friend and neighbor, the sculptor Sara Aldouby, I began to design and sculpt independently. Each work is its own being and an expression of deep reflection, hence “Thoughts in Wood”.
In most cases, I conceptualize projects on paper first, experiment with 3D models and then let the wood provide inspiration for the rest. I hope you will enjoy my art as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
My work is available for exhibits or purchase. Please contact me for details if you are interested.
