 About  Cotton sculptor :


Mr.  Anant  Narayan  Khairnar






Born on 28 th September 1966,  Anant Khairnar comes from a small town named Jawhar, dist Thane.Completed his school education in Jawhar and college in Nashik.



He has completed his degree in Science faculty , with Chemistry as a principal subject .Apart from education he was fond of Drawing and



Paintings, Poem writing, Rangoli ,Drama college tenure. At present he is works with government job.



Cotton sculpture ,  a New start:



The organiser of Ganesh Festival in Bhagur ,dist Nashik, wanted something different concept for decoration.Anant accepted that challenge and prepared first  ‘ Cotton Ganesh ‘  idol made from cotton in 1987.



Thus started the Art of Cotton Sculptures with first ‘ Cotton Ganesha ’ i.e  Shriganesha of Cotton Art.






About Cotton Sculptures :



Sculptures are made from surgical cotton wool.Some chemicals have been added to the cotton  to make sculptures tough and durable .This cotton art is being introduced first time in the history of hundreds of years which is new concept for encyclopedia.Sculptures can be prepared for any required size.No machinery is used for while making



Cotton sculptures. Art is in great demand in country and abroad. So far Anant has prepared more than one thousand sculptures of eminent personalities, including Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Mother Teressa, Buddha, Savarkar, Pandit Neharu, Shivaji Maharaj, lady Diana,Jain Guru and many more.






Records and Achievements :






1.Cotton art has been recorded into “  Limca Book of Records “ in 1997.


2. The Cotton Art has been recorded into “ Guinness Book of World Record “ in 1999. For that Anant has prepared a sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi having height of 7.5 feet tall, creating a world record unique in the world.
