Oceana Rain Stuart, born in Forest Knolls, California is a figurative sculpture artist. She resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and her atelier is in Sausalito.
Stuart grew up in an artistic family in California. As a young adult, she lived in Europe and was inspired by art masters of the past and present. Stuart took classes at the Laguna College of Art and Design and the San Francisco Art Institute, but considers herself largely a self-taught artist.
Stuart’s most recent work, the Eternity Series, a collection of seven bronze sculptures has been exhibited at juried and solo exhibitions internationally. In 2016 it was exhibited at the International Salon d'art Contemporain, in the Carrousel Du Louvre at the Louvre museum in Paris, France. From this body of work, one exemplar of the Eternal Bliss bust was installed into the permanent collection at the Museo Arte Contemporanea in Catania, Sicily in 2017. Another exemplar of Eternal Bliss was one of 47 sculptures exhibited in the National Sculpture Society's 84th Annual Awards Exhibition. In addition, the A Love Remembered sculpture was pre-selected by the Museu Europeu d'Arte Modern for its Figurativas 2017 exhibition. The Eternal Embrace sculpture was exhibited at the 2017 Art Comes Alive Exhibition, where Stuart was awarded the Figurative Artist of the Year. In December 2017, Stuart presented her entire Eternity Series at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura at an event sponsored by the Leonardo da Vinci Society of San Francisco. The Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, Lorenzo Ortona, introduced Stuart at this event.
In 2018, The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club further honored Eternal Embrace in its 121st Annual National Exhibition at the National Arts Club New York City in 2018. Her work is also part of the 2018 American Women Artist’s Spring online juried exhibition.
Stuart became an elected artist member of the California Art Club in 2018 and her Eternal Bliss was juried into their 2018, 107th Annual Good Exhibition at the National History Museum in Los Angeles County. The A Love Remembered sculpture was juried into their Art Between the Lines exhibition at the Peninsula Museum in Burlingame.
Stuart plans to unveil her new series in 2018.
