Artist Statement

My work explores masculinity as a collision between two cultures—gay clubs and race cars. By using elements common to both—black lights, tinted glass, and mirrors—my “souped-up” geometric forms attempt to push the edge between the two. The work critiques the high-power performance of masculinity and anxieties over crossing the line. The viewer is left to consider the parallel tracks of these hybrid precision models.
