Artist Statement

My work explores the poetry of everyday objects and imagery. When I create an object about an object, I fluctuate between two perceptual modes: how the sculpture relates to immediate space and how it operates within the spatial logic of memory. The memory of an object is a tactile image, which I explore through visual associations. My sculptures isolate moments when our bodies intimately connect with objects. The examination of these routines poses an anthropological and philosophical proposition: How do modern objects reveal the logic, and illogic, of our ways of living?
